The Good News

The Good News of Jesus Christ

What is the ‘Good News’? What is the gospel that Jesus spoke of when he was here on earth? What does it mean to be saved? Once I believe in Christ do I need to be saved again if I do something sinful?

We are all sinners, even Christians sin we do not become as Christ in an instant it takes hard work to sanctify our relationship with God.

We must recognize that we are condemned sinners before a Holy God

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity(sins) of us all.” Isaiah 53:6

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” Revelation 20:14

We must discover what Christ has done for us

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John3:16

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8

“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. Matthew 18:11

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” 1 Peter 3:18

We must truly in our heart have sorrow for our sin and repent to the Lord, turn to Christ for salvation

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10
“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:7

If we are truly sorry for our sins and willing to turn from them, we can be saved

We must believe on the Lord with all our heart and receive the gift of God

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

We need to exercise our faith by receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Faith and repentance are both necessary for salvation.

We are all sinners, even after we accept Jesus, the flesh is weak and we will stumble but we must sincerely talk to God always

Admit your need (I am a sinner). Be willing to turn from your sin (repent).
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross. Through prayer, invite Jesus to come in and control your heart and life (receive Him as Saviour and Lord).

"Dear Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. I have not lived my life for you up until now. I have been living for myself. I need I need your forgiveness; I want you in my life. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ Died on the cross for my sins and you raised Him from the dead. Come into my life now, Lord as my personal Saviour. I am willing, by God’s grace, to follow and obey Christ as the Lord of my heart and life.” In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen

Jesus Loves you NO Matter What
See the Love he Has for you?
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
Wont you Love Him too?

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
