I have been taking a break from being online for a bit. I have had a lot going on with job searching, reading, worshiping and Raychele is going into her final year of high school! She is growing up so fast and into a fine young lady.
This verse has been on my mind and in my prayers the last few weeks…
Today I wish to share a few posts from some women that I read often and I felt that I needed to share today.
What can we all do each day to glorify God? Serving in church, taking care of those little ones, husbands, families, home school, working at, well anything. It’s all good and God has a plan for all of us!
1 Peter 4:10-11
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as thought God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All Glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen.

Searching through God's Word, this is what it tells me about itself:
God’s Word gives us freedom, strength, and purity, it leads us to obedience, produces fruit, gives us health, guidance, confidence, comfort, revival, understanding, discernment, insight, and restoration, it makes us wise, enlightens our eyes, warns us, leads us to trust God, motivates us to worship, .....

He laughs and around us, mountains, the kind you can run to and we run together, a family of odd-sorts: Mum in her new floral shirt and Dad in his “holiday” blue jeans and my brother with his Blackberry, his two kids in bed and Allison, the piano player and we stare as Dad laughs. He laughs grooves into skin, and his mirth is froth on our toes and we float on this feeling of happy.

“We served 42 families last Tuesday,” one of the volunteers says. “People are hurting.”

I was confronted recently with a friend who holds to the theology that there is no eternity in heaven. This theology holds that the kingdom of God is on the earth now. The mission of the followers of Christ is to make this earth a better place. Our task is to make the kingdom of God ‘on earth as it is in heaven’, by fighting poverty, aiding the sick, saving the environment, fighting injustice, etc. They believe as the church embraces this mission, then the future will change so as to become ‘heaven on earth’. That is the kingdom of God! They do not believe in the second coming of Christ, judgment, heaven or hell. The kingdom, while already here, will progressively become like heaven as we attack the social issues around us. We have the power to make heaven on earth.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside....

I read your 'story' blog just now and felt as though my heart would break. I couldn't find a place to comment. Then I went to my blog and found where you had linked up! What a testimony to what God can do. You have come so far yet the scars are so deep. I am especially praying for that huge one on your heart over your son and pray God comfort today. I cannot image the pain. May God use you to reach many with your story.
